چکیده
Let F (z) = ∑ r arz r be a multivariate generating function which is meromorphic in some neighborhood of the origin of C, and let V be its set of singularities. Effective asymptotic expansions for the coefficients can be obtained by complex contour integration near points of V. In the first article in this series, we treated the case of smooth points of V. In this article we deal with multiple points of V. Our results show that the central limit (Ornstein-Zernike) behavior typical of the smooth case does not hold in the multiple point case. For example, when V has a multiple point singularity at (1, . . . , 1), rather than ar decaying as |r| −1/2 as |r| → ∞, ar is very nearly polynomial in a cone of directions.

Let e ⊂ R be a finite union of disjoint closed intervals. We study measures whose essential support is e and whose discrete eigenvalues obey a 1/2-power condition. We show that a Szeg˝ o condition is equivalent to lim sup a 1 · · · a n cap(e) n > 0 (this includes prior results of Widom and Peherstorfer–Yuditskii). Using Remling's extension of the Denisov–Rakhmanov theorem and an analysis of Jos...
متن کاملAsymptotics of Multivariate Sequences, Part I: Smooth Points of the Singular Variety
Given a multivariate generating function F (z1, . . . , zd) = ∑ ar1,... ,rdz r1 1 · · · z rd d , we determine asymptotics for the coefficients. Our approach is to use Cauchy’s integral formula near singular points of F , resulting in a tractable oscillating integral. This paper treats the case where the singular point of F is a smooth point of a surface of poles. Companion papers will treat sin...

We demonstrate that parastatistics can be quantized using path integrals by calculating the generating functionals for time-ordered products of both free and interacting parabose and parafermi fields in terms of path integrals.
